young boy in soiled clothes entered the platform.
নোংরা পোশাক পরা একটি যুবক প্ল্যাটফর্মে প্রবেশ করল।
His
feet were bare and muddy.
তার পা খালি এবং কর্দমাক্ত ছিল।
He
seemed to be very tired.
তাকে খুব ক্লান্ত মনে হচ্ছিল।
But
his eyes were glowing like fire.
কিন্তু তার চোখ আগুনের মতো জ্বলছিল।
His
name was Swadesh.
তার নাম ছিল স্বদেশ।
Meanwhile,
some British Police were seen outside the station.

They
were on the lookout for a young freedom fighter of Bengal.

there was a whistle.
হঠাৎ একটা বাঁশি বেজে উঠল।

Calcutta-bound train was coming to platform no. 2. Swadesh clutched his canvas
bag tightly.

He
boarded the train and took a corner seat.
সে ট্রেনে উঠে কোণার সিট নিল।
The
train started moving. He recalled the incidents of the previous evening.

Yesterday
evening, Swadesh was studying in his room.
গতকাল সন্ধ্যায় স্বদেশ তার ঘরে পড়াশোনা করছিলেন।
Suddenly
his elder brother entered the room in a hurry.
হঠাৎ তার বড় ভাই হুড়মুড় করে রুমে ঢুকলো।
He
studied in a college.
তিনি একটি কলেজে পড়াশুনা করেছেন।
He
was also deeply involved in the freedom movement.
স্বাধীনতা আন্দোলনেও তিনি গভীরভাবে জড়িত ছিলেন।
"I'm
in great trouble, brother.
"আমি খুব কষ্টে আছি ভাই।
The
British police are chasing me.
ব্রিটিশ পুলিশ আমাকে তাড়া করছে।
But
I have to deliver some secret papers to our leader,
কিন্তু আমাকে কিছু গোপন কাগজ আমাদের নেতার কাছে পৌঁছে দিতে হবে,
Mr.
Basu. He is now in Calcutta," he said breathlessly.

What are you going to do now?" asked Swadesh.
"তাহলে? এখন কি করতে যাচ্ছেন?" স্বদেশকে

He
was anxious.
তিনি উদ্বিগ্ন ছিলেন।
His
elder brother seemed undecided.
তার বড় ভাইকে সিদ্ধান্তহীন মনে হলো।
Swadesh
told him, "I can do your job.
স্বদেশ তাকে বলল, আমি তোমার কাজ করতে পারি।
The
police do not know me."
পুলিশ আমাকে চেনে না।"

my dear brother, your life may be in danger."
"কিন্তু আমার প্রিয় ভাই, আপনার জীবন বিপদে পড়তে পারে।"
He
loved his brother dearly.
তিনি তার ভাইকে খুব ভালোবাসতেন।
"Can't
I at least do this for my motherland?" Swadesh insisted.
"আমি কি অন্তত আমার মাতৃভূমির জন্য এটা করতে পারি না?" স্বদেশ জোর দিয়েছিল।
"All
right, then. But be very careful.
"ঠিক আছে, তাহলে কিন্তু খুব সাবধানে থেকো।
This
bag contains many secret documents."
এই ব্যাগে অনেক গোপন নথি রয়েছে।"
His
voice trembled with emotion.
আবেগে কেঁপে ওঠে তার কণ্ঠ।
He
handed the bag over to his brother, Swadesh, and said "Vandemataram".
তিনি ব্যাগটি তার ভাই স্বদেশের হাতে দিয়ে বললেন, "বন্দেমাতরম"।

Suddenly
the train stopped with a jerk.
হঠাৎ একটা ঝাঁকুনি দিয়ে ট্রেন থামল।
He
was brought back to the present.
তাকে বর্তমান অবস্থায় ফিরিয়ে আনা হয়।
Some
policemen were walking down the platform.
কয়েকজন পুলিশ প্ল্যাটফর্ম বেয়ে হেঁটে যাচ্ছিল।
They
were coming towards his compartment.
তারা তার বগির দিকে আসছিল।
"Stay
where you are. Don't move.
"আপনি যেখানে আছেন সেখানে থাকুন। নড়বেন না।
We
will search everyone," they announced.
আমরা সবাইকে অনুসন্ধান করব,” তারা ঘোষণা করেছে।
He
realized at once that he had to escape.
সে তখনই বুঝতে পারল যে তাকে পালাতে হবে।
Quickly
he found a window with a broken grille.

hesitated for a moment.
