world around us is green with trees.

Trees
are our best friends.
গাছ আমাদের সেরা বন্ধু।
Trees
are of many kinds.
অনেক ধরনের গাছ আছে।
Some
are big. Some are small. Like us, a tree also has life.
কিছু বড়, কিছু ছোট গাছ আমাদের মতোই বেঁচে আছে।
It
has roots. Roots go deep into the soil.
এর শিকড় রয়েছে। শিকড় মাটির গভীরে প্রবেশ করে।
They
help a tree to draw water and provide strong support.
তারা উদ্ভিদকে জল শোষণ করতে এবং শক্তিশালী সমর্থন প্রদান করতে সহায়তা করে।
Do
you know, trees can make their own food?

With
the help of sunrays trees make their food in their leaves.

We
cannot live without oxygen.
আমরা অক্সিজেন ছাড়া বাঁচতে পারি না।
We
get fruits and vegetables from the trees.
আমরা গাছ থেকে ফল ও সবজি পাই।
Cows,
goats, sheep and many other animals feed on leaves and grass.
গরু, ছাগল, ভেড়া এবং অন্যান্য অনেক প্রাণী পাতা এবং ঘাস খায়।
Trees
give us beautiful flowers, too.

green world gives us many other wonderful gifts. We get different

There
was an old mango tree in a farmer's garden.
এক কৃষকের বাগানে একটি পুরানো নল ছিল।
It
was very old. So, it stopped bearing fruits.
এটা অনেক পুরানো ছিল. তাই ফলাফল আসা বন্ধ।
It
only gave shelter to the sparrows, butterflies and squirrels.
শুধুমাত্র চড়ুই, প্রজাপতি এবং কাঠবিড়ালি সেখানে বাস করত।

The
tree was completely useless to the farmer.
গাছটি কৃষকের কাছে সম্পূর্ণ অকেজো ছিল।
One
day he decided to cut down the tree.
একদিন তিনি গাছটি কেটে ফেলার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন।
So
he took a sharp axe and struck at the trunk of the tree.
তারপর একটি ধারালো কুড়াল নিয়ে গাছের কাণ্ডে আঘাত করে।
At
once all the creatures living in the tree requested the farmer, "Please
don't cut down this tree.
গাছের সমস্ত প্রাণী তৎক্ষণাৎ কৃষকের কাছে অনুনয়-বিনয় করে বলল, “দয়া করে এই গাছটা কাটবেন না।
It
is our home." But the farmer did not listen to them.
এটা আমাদের বাড়ি।” কিন্তু কৃষক তার কথা শোনেননি।
So
the sparrows, butterflies and squirrels left the tree.
তাই চড়ুই, প্রজাপতি এবং কাঠবিড়ালি গাছ ছেড়ে চলে গেল।
The
farmer was in a hurry to finish off his work.
কৃষকের কাজ শেষ করার তাড়া ছিল।
Suddenly,
he saw something in the hollow of - the tree. What did he see?
হঠাৎ গাছের ফাঁকে কিছু একটা দেখতে পেলেন। সে কি দেখেছে?
"A
beehive! Full of honey!” he said.
"একটি মৌচাক! মধুতে ভরা!" সে বলেছিল.
He
tasted the honey. "How sweet!" he said.
তিনি মধুর স্বাদ নিলেন। "কি সুন্দর!" সে বলেছিল.
The
farmer understood that the tree was not useless.
চাষি বুঝল গাছটা অকেজো নয়।
"How
foolish I was! No tree can be useless," he said to himself.
"আমি কত বোকা ছিলাম! কোন গাছই অকেজো হতে পারে না", সে মনে মনে ভাবল।
He
stopped striking at the tree and went away.
সে গাছে আঘাত করা বন্ধ করে চলে গেল।
The
sparrows, the butterflies and the squirrels were all happy.
চড়ুই, প্রজাপতি এবং কাঠবিড়ালি সবাই খুশি ছিল।
They
all came back to their home.
সবাই নিজ নিজ বাড়িতে ফিরে গেল।
