Tree Plantation Drive(ট্রি প্লান্টেশন ড্রাইভ) - বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচী

A tree plantation drive was recently organized at our school, Banpur Zilla school, at Bankura in West Bengal for the students of class 7 to 10 on 5th June to create awareness and spread the message of saving our planet- 'Protecting our environment is the need of the hour.' Students brought different types of saplings and planted them in the school compound.

The inauguration ceremony began at 10.30 am. All the teachers, students of all classes, the clerk and other staff were present there. The famous physician of the locality, Sri Rahul Ghosh, who is a great social worker also, was the Chief Guest. Our Headmaster first delivered a speech which followed by the Chief Guest’s speech.

Then the tree plantation programme started. All the students and teachers were divided into six groups. Each of them planted five saplings. The importance of trees in contributing to the environment by providing oxygen improving air quality, conserving water, preserving soil, supporting wild life and providing shelter, medicine and tools was explained to students on the occasion. I took part in the recitation and drama. It was a great joy for me.
