points. Give a title to the story:
A hare challenges a
tortoise to a race – the race starts – hare takes rest on the way – falls
asleep – the tortoise reaches the goal first.
A hare and a tortoise
Once a hare was very proud of his speed. He always laughed at a
tortoise and challenged him to run a race with him. It accepted the challenge
one day. They fixed the top of a distant hill as the winning-post. The hare ran
as fast as he could. Before long, he was out of sight. The tortoise could not
run so fast. But it moved on very steadily. After some time, it saw the hare
sleeping under the shade of a tree. It was dead tired. But it did not stop to
take any rest. The hare woke up after some time. He began to run very fast.
Soon he reached the winning-post. But he was greatly ashamed to see the
tortoise already sitting there.
Moral
- Slow and steady wins the race.

Suppose you have visited the zoo with your parents. Write a

My
dear Somu,
I
had a delightful day at the Zoo last Saturday. First I went to the birds
section. The hornbill looked very funny with its long and yellow beak. The
woodpecker, always so quick and lively, was darting around. The bird of paradise
looked as beautiful as a dream.
The
rhino had just finished his mud bath when I arrived there. The elephant was
dancing and I tossed a 10 Rs. coin to him. Most obligingly he picked it up and
saluted me. We saw the monkeys chattering and swaying from one corner to other
inside the cages. The white tigers were new and they drew a large crowd.
The
Royal Bengal tigers and the lions in their cages looked bored and unhappy. It
took me nearly three hours to go round but I was happy at the end. We had tea
and snacks inside the Zoo, and were back at about 6 p.m. The day will always
remain fresh in my memory. It’s all for today. Don’t forget to write me.
I
wish you were with us.
Yours affectionately,
Sujon
