Sentence 1, the word in bold letters
(city) does not refer to any particular place.
City word
টির দ্বারা কোনো নির্দিষ্ট জায়গাকে বোঝানো হচ্ছে না।
Sentence 2, the word in bold letters
(brother) refers to a relation in general.

A word which refers to a person,
place or thing in common is called a common noun.
যে word দ্বারা সাধারণ ভাবে কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, জায়গা বা
সম্পর্কের নাম বোঝায় তাকে common noun বলে।
In sentence 1, the underlined word
(Kolkata) refers to the name of a particular city.

A proper noun begins with a capital
letter.

তাকে proper noun বলে।
Proper noun সর্বদা capital letter দিয়ে শুরু হয়।
