Activity 1

 

Rearrange the following sentences in the correct order and put the number in the given boxes. One is done for you

 

(i) Tuffy jumped at reins. [4]

 

(ii) The toy clown wanted to be a hero. [1]

 

(iii) The farmer was terribly angry. [6]

 

(iv) There was a grand race between two wooden horses and carts driven by wooden farmers. [3]

 

(v) He found the little corner of the toy shelf to be dull. [2]

Activity 2

 

Fill in the blanks with words followed in the Help Box. There is one extra word:

Tuffy, the toy clown lived in a toyshop. He wished to do something noble, Timothy, felt that the clown always grumbled. But Tuffy thought that the adventures were always exciting.

Answer the following question:

 

"Adventures are always exciting"- Why do you think Tuffy said so?

Answer- Tuffy believed life is meaningless without action. He felt the life on the shelf was very dull. There was no enjoyment. So, he said that adventures are always exciting.

Supporting statement -The farmer shouted, "Now the other horse and cart will win! You silly, little clown.

Answer the following questions:

 

(a) What did Tuffy do when he got upset?

Answer- When Tuffy got upset, He ran out and sat down in a toy farm wiping his tears.

 

(b) how did the toy clown put out the fire?

Answer- The toy clown put out the fire by throwing all the water in at the window.

 

(c) Why was the sailor doll angry?

Answer- Tuffy was disturbing the sailor doll by throwing water when he was making porridge.

 

(d) What real adventure did Tuffy finds at last?

Answer- To rescue a small doll from a big bowl of water was a real adventure found by Tuffy at last.

Answer- Tuffy put0the little net in the water to rescue the little doll.

 

(b) What made the little doll thinks that Tuffy wasn't a hero?

Answer- Because Tuffy spoiled the fun of the little doll, So she thought that Tuffy was not a hero.

 

(c) How was Tuffy released from the police station?

Answer- Timothy threw the key of the door of the room at Tuffy and He frees himself with it. In this way, he was released from the police station.

 

(d) Why did Timothy blush?

Answer- As Timothy was called hero by Tuffy, he blushed.

Write a paragraph in about sixty words on 'A boat journey’ using the following hints:

 

A boat journey

It was a moonlit night. I was going to my elder sister's house by boat with my three friends. The flowing water of the river was visible in the moonlit night. The dark forest on both sides was a mystery. We could see the spotlights on both sides of the distant city. Our flights are fun and exciting. We will never forget this experience.

 

Activity 10(b)

 

Suppose you spent a night with Tuffy in the toy shop. Write a short paragraph in about sixty words describing your experience.

 

ANSWER

Last night, Taffy and I had a good time at the toy store. We both decorated the shop with flowers and balloons. I was wearing nice clothes. Taffy and I played Ludo and chess. In chess, I won. But in Ludo, Taffy wins. I told him an interesting story. We ate dinner together. We went to sleep around midnight.
